About this property

Welcome to The Admiral's Inn

Located at 95 Main St in Ogunquit, ME, The Admiral's Inn offers classic rooms and suites in a historic setting that formerly served as a stagecoach stop. Guests can enjoy two pools, including a family pool and a smaller adult pool, along with hot tubs and a seasonal eatery and bar called The Helm. The property is pet- and kid-friendly, providing convenient free parking and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the air-conditioned facility.

The inn is well suited for visitors seeking a relaxed, casual atmosphere with access to nearby attractions. It is approximately a 7-minute walk from the Ogunquit Playhouse, with Long Sands Beach, Footbridge Beach, and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art all within easy reach. Several nearby airports, including Portland International Jetport and Portsmouth International Airport, offer reasonable driving times of under an hour.

Guest experiences highlight the friendly and accommodating staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and convenient location. However, some reviews note dated decor and concerns about humidity and carpeting in certain rooms. Efforts to maintain a balance between the inn’s historic charm and modern comfort appear ongoing, with the family-oriented pool receiving positive remarks. On-site amenities do not include a full-service restaurant or airport shuttle but feature a fitness center and access to a nearby golf course.

Reservations require check-in after 3 PM and check-out by 11 AM. The property’s setting and amenities appear appealing to families and travelers looking for a traditional New England lodging experience with a community feel, although guests seeking more modern luxury or extensive dining options may need to look elsewhere.

We just left the Admirals Inn and our stay in the main building was lovely. The room was large and clean. Staff was amazing, food and drinks at The Helm were delicious! The continental breakfast was perfect and parking was free. Location was absolutely the best!! However, the carpet needed updating. It was old/stained. The room humidity was high, definitely needed a dehumidifier. Lastly the tub needs a hand rail.

This is a typical New England accommodation. It’s a family run business. Chuck at the front desk is phenomenal he is very nice patient and accommodating. I had a massage at the sail away spa and I recommend it for a little extra relaxation. The adult pool is tiny but the family pool is fantastic. My room was on the first floor of the quarterdeck and I would not choose this room again. It was very damp and our bathing suits never dried. The door is glass which is excellent for light but whenever we left the room anyone could see our belongings inside. There was no safe and the old fashioned lock with a key could easily be broken into. Updated key card system and frosted glass could fix this. I think the second floor would be a better choice. The hotels location is perfect everything is within walking distance. I would stay here again but it’s n a different room.

Boom at Admiral’s Inn & Gunpowder Suites was, without question, the highlight of my week in Antigua — I ended up going five times, which probably tells you everything you need to know. The infinity pool alone is worth it — overlooking the water, perfectly calm, and never felt overcrowded. It’s the kind of place where you actually relax, not just say you did. I also had one of the best spa treatments I’ve had in a long time — a 90-minute deep tissue massage that was exactly what I needed. They offer a day pass for $115 USD, and it’s an incredible value. It includes a reserved lounger with an umbrella, full access to the pool, a three-course lunch, and two cocktails. The food and drinks exceeded expectations — I kept going back to the Gunpowder Margarita, which was easily my favorite. What really made the experience, though, was the service. Shareen (apologies if I’m misspelling) and her team were warm, attentive, and genuinely made the experience feel special every time I visited. I was in Antigua while my partner was training for the RORC 600 Caribbean race, and Boom became my go-to spot to unwind. It turned what could have been a long week on my own into something I’ll actually remember as one of my favorite trips.

Let me start off by saying that I got my tickets through a third party, and I didn't realize that the property is split into 21 and older, and then a separate side for families. So my room had to be moved because I was traveling with my 8 year old. Decor wise, everything looked exactly like its pictures in the website. Beautiful decor and parking was very convenient, right outside your door. The pool was nice and there was an outdoor bar. Breakfast was upstairs, but was nice. Almost gives you a bed and breakfast type feel. Note, there are no microwaves in the room though so you have to walk your food back to the lobby to heat it. The beach is about a 15-minute walk, and there is trolley service that takes you very close to the hotel. The location is good. You can walk to many shops close by. I definitely will stay again, I loved it.

We’ve been coming here for over 15 years, love the place and location, one thing I am not happy about is…. I booked 5 months in advance, a Tuesday and Wednesday night end of October, off season, they charged me $180 a night, just went on line and it’s $116 a night, $70 difference each night, not happy maybe I’ll wait till the last minute next year or stay somewhere else fir $140 difference, plus the inn is empty

Room was clean and comfortable. Pool and outside bar was nice. The bartender Richard was very organized and friendly. Drinks were really good and food was good. The only negative was the fire alarm system went off around 7ish in the morning. Woke up everyone in the hotel. Really no explanation why? The house keeper was not friendly. Seemed to be annoyed that one of the light bulbs was out and needed replacing. Other than the few hiccups, I’d stay again as Chuck & Richard are really good guys.

We booked at this hotel due to them being pet friendly. We were assigned a room in the Flagship building that had 2 queen beds. This is the only building that allows pets. Our room was large and spotless. The shower had good pressure and the bathtub was comfortable. It was quiet except for an occasional dog barking, but that didn't bother us. They had a nice area to walk your dog and an outdoor pool (wasn't open yet when we were there). I liked the fact that the rooms in this building have exterior entrances, makes it very handy when traveling with a dog. I would have gave 5 stars if the breakfast would have been a little better. No warm foods like bacon or eggs (except hardboiled). It would be nice to have a microwave in the breakfast room to warm up the pastries that was available. If I ever find myself back in the area I would definitely stay here again. All staff that I dealt with was extremely friendly and nice.
